FAQ's

How long is the class?

A Regular class will last for approximately one hour, which typically includes warm-up, aerobic, muscle-toning, stretch and cool-down segments for a total body workout. We’ve taken moves from hip-hop, yoga, Pilates, jazz dance, kick-boxing, and resistance training and bundled them into one hour of choreographed fun.

I haven't exercised for a long time, will this matter?

Jazzercise is professionally choreographed to cater for all fitness levels and all ages. It’s primary aim is to provide an effective workout in a fun environment for the whole community. Options will always be shown for those students who do not want to work at a high impact level, so you can basically work at your own pace.
As long as your doctor hasn't told you not to exercise, you should be fine. It's not a competition and we have new people starting all the time, so you won't feel out of place. Just come with an open mind and don't expect to "get" everything at first.

I'm not very co-ordinated & a bit nervous about coming to class

We want you to have a great time in an environment you are comfortable in and we understand that coming to a new class for the first time can be a bit daunting, so we've addressed some of those concerns on our 'First Timer Tips' Page.

And remember; we welcome all ages, levels, and sizes and we ALL had a first class where we felt a bit uncoordinated too.
It truly doesn't matter - you'll find classes will just get easier and easier!

At what age can I start Jazzercise Classes?

We welcome all ages as well as abilities at Jazzercise, with a minimum start age of 12 years.

T's & C's: Participants under 16 years of age must be accompanied during class by an adult (over 18) on a 1:2 ratio, and relevant paperwork must be completed and signed by either a parent or guardian giving permission for minor's to attend and participate in class.
It is a requirement that accompanying adults accept sole responsibility of minor's whilst in attendance, and for the entire duration of class.

What results can I expect?

Every Jazzercise class combines cardio moves to enhance endurance and burn mega calories, strength training to define muscles and strengthen your core, and stretching to increase flexibility. Through the use of choreographed routines and optional hand-held weights during the strength segment, you will get a total body workout while blasting fat and having fun!
And calories? You'll burn up to 600 calories in a 60-minute Jazzercise class.

When can I join?

Jazzercise is an ongoing program that can be joined at any time.
Classes aren't restricted by term times and continue through school holidays.

How much does a class cost?

Jazzercise is unbeatable value for money!

Your first class is absolutely FREE for you to give us a try.
Our Unlimited Class passes allow you access to all of our scheduled classes at no extra cost to you, meaning the more you come, the cheaper your classes get!

How often should I exercise?

If you are new to exercise, begin with 2-3 classes a week and gradually add classes. To increase your fitness level, work out 4-5 times per week.

May I bring drinks and food to a class?

We recommend Jazzercisers bring a non-breakable water bottle with a lid to class. Prevent accidents and spillage by keeping drinks out of the way of other Jazzercisers. No food or gum, please.

Do I need weights?

Weights are optional for new customers. We recommend you familiarize yourself with the basic exercises and techniques before using light (3-5lb.) weights.

Do I need special clothes or equipment?

Any loose, comfortable clothes are fine. Most people wear sweatpants or jazz pants and a T-shirt. Bring along a towel or exercise mat for the floor work & wear good, rubber-soled aerobic shoes.

How do I cancel my Monthly EFT?

Your EFT can be cancelled any time AFTER your first payment. All we ask is that you let us know that you have cancelled it with your bank. As the payment is made by Standing Order and not Direct Debit, we have no control over the payments, your bank does, so you must cancel it with them otherwise they will keep sending us the money. If payments are made and you haven't informed us, refunds will not be able to be made.
